YOLANDA:

“Taking care of pets has been my passion for over 25 years.  A passion grew out of frustration.   My husband and I have always loved to travel.  However, I was not satisfied with the quality of care my dog received when I boarded him at the local kennel.  He always came home smelly and sometimes ill.  This simply was not acceptable.  I convinced my husband to let me set up a small shop where I could board a maximum of 10 dogs.”
 
“The very first week, I was full.  Word spread quickly about my small operation and soon I had a waiting list several pages long.  People were actually scheduling their vacations around my ability to care for their pet.  Almost immediately, we expanded our operation to 100 kennels and Homestead Kennels was born. Our next expansion was again almost immediate.   At full capacity, we could accommodate over 350 pets.  Being a fastidious person by nature, I developed a strict regiment of cleanliness for our operation, not only for the facility but for the pets as well.  Over the years I have perfected many operational procedures.  Our franchisees will reap the benefit of these perfected procedures.  Here are just a couple of examples.  Each kennel is designed with its own drainage system.  This ensures that all pets remain clean and free of waste during their stay at All American Pet Resorts.  Over the years, I have also familiarized myself with the behavioral nuances of various breeds and have structured the care of each dog according to age, temperament and health.  This, and more knowledge and experience will be shared with all franchisees.”

KATHY:

“For 30 years, I enjoyed a successful career in corporate sales, management, marketing and training.  After my husband, Rich, retired from his own business franchise endeavors, he wanted me to spend more time at home with him and our black lab, Rhoda.   Since we both shared a deep love of all of our family pets, he suggested that we look at a second career for us in the field of quality pet care.  At first I was reluctant.  After all, the corporate stability and regular income was an attractive hold for me.  Using his experience in franchising, Rich continued to research the pet care industry and existing facilities in our area as well as across the country."

“The more information we uncovered the more convinced he became that quality pet care was the opportunity for us.  I was still reticent.  He knew that I was never a big fan of boarding our pets and in fact, had never boarded any of them - ever.  Then one day, we met Art and Yolanda Rimbold who introduced us to Pet Ritz America.  I loaded Rhoda into the car and went to check it out.  After touring the facility, meeting the staff and checking references, I was sold.  A few months later, Rhoda spent a week at Pet Ritz America.  When we went to pick her up, it was clear that her experience there was a good one.  She knew and liked the staff and they liked her too.  I was thrilled.  In fact it was that very day that I wrote my letter of resignation to corporate America.  Today, Rich and I together with our friends, the Rimbold’s, have started All American Pet Resorts.  Pet Ritz America, being the industry’s unrivaled leader, is the business model that is the foundation of the All American Pet Resorts franchise network.   Now, we have turned a life long dream into a reality.  Not only are we able to spend more time together, but also we are able to supply a much-needed service – we provide World Class quality pet care.”
                            
RICH:

“At a very young age, I started my first lawn mowing business.  I designed a flier advertising my particular skills and equipment and then delivered it around my entire neighborhood.  Before I knew it, I had more jobs than I could handle.  So I recruited some of my friends to do some of the work for me.  In exchange, they paid me what I called “my finders fee”.  That was the beginning.  I guess you could say that I was born with an entrepreneurial spirit.  I did try my hand at the corporate life and in fact, enjoyed almost 20 years of success.  But the lure of independence never left my spirit.

Eventually, I left corporate America in favor of owning several automotive related services and supply franchises.  I loved my cars but not as much as I love my pets. As a good businessman, I began researching the pet care industry.  I analyzed statistics and trends to see if there was an opportunity for me.  My research results determined that there was significant opportunity in the industry.  So then it was just a matter of finding the right business.  I wasn’t interested in a “Bates Hotel” style of facility instead I dreamed of the finest boarding facility in the industry.  Our friends, the Rimbold’s, introduced Kathy and me to Pet Ritz America.     This turned out to be the luckiest day of my life.  Becoming part of the inception and launch of All America Pet Resorts has allowed me the luxury of time with my wife and financial freedom.”
