Franchisee Testimonial Joe Coates, Area Developer for Detroit, Michigan Joe has just opened the first of four facilities planned in the Detroit metro area.  His facility is Pet Ritz Lakeshore Resort located in Roseville, Michigan.  Here is what Joe has to say about his experience with All American Pet Resorts (AAPR). AAPR:  What first interested you in franchising a pet care facility?   Joe:  First, having two large dogs myself, Mia and Cruz, I am a huge dog lover.  I used Pet Ritz America for all of my boarding, daycare and grooming needs.  I fell in love with their concept, their approach to pet care and their staff.  Secondly, I wanted to move my business interests from the automotive industry.  I researched several franchise companies.  In the end, I saw working with pets the ideal industry for me, my business partners and my family.  AAPR: There are other pet services based franchise companies.  What made you select All American Pet Resorts?  Joe:  Easy answer.  Their support system, years of  experience in pet care and obvious financial success.  AAPR:  What do you mean by support?  Joe:  An All American Pet Resort principal worked with me through every step of my site selection, site build-out, staff training, pre-opening and opening.  I am a good business man but I had no experience retro-fitting a building to be a world-class pet care facility.  That is the support that AAPR gave to me.  I couldn't have done it without them! AAPR:  How was the training program?  Joe:  All American Pet Resorts offers training in three Phases.  Phase 1 is the initial basic training that takes place at one of their facilities.  Phase 2 & 3 take place in my facility.  All I can say is that after my staff and I went through Phases 1 and 2 we were confident that we could run our own facility efficiently and by ourselves.  In addition to the physical training classes, they also provide a series of audio trainings that enable us to learn how to effectively deliver proven pet care as well as customer service techniques. AAPR:  Where do you see yourself in the franchise system in the next two years?
